Uncover hidden intentions

Hidden intention definition

Very often the hidden intention is associated with ulterior motive. And yet it is not always negative or reasoned. It is very often hidden, even from ourselves.

The hidden intention is the domain of the limiting belief that we hold. That of not succeeding, of not seducing, or of getting what we want by clearly displaying our intentions in life.

The objective of this article is to share with you 2 contexts to train you to flush out what is really going on in you in different contexts. Two situations, resulting from experience feedback where the statement plays a sleight of hand to the person who is the author.

Situation 1- Be a Guest Star

Context :receipt of an email following a workshop facilitation at the villa des icebreakers

Situation : detail of email received

Hello Ladies, hello Gents,Dear facilitators, dear facilitators,

As an extension of the Thursday night icebreakers’ villa, would you be interested in leading one of my morning workshops (Monday / Wednesday / Friday 8:45 am – 9 am) with the following schedule:

  1. 1′ of introduction by me
  2. 3′ presentation of the instructions of your favorite icebreaker and its virtues (how it differs, what it creates among the participants)
  3. 6′ to experiment with your icebreaker in a sub-group (or in plenary if it is a collective icebreaker of 40)
  4. 3′ feedback from participants
  5. 1′ of conclusion by me

The principle is to promote as much as possible the autonomy of the participants in the reuse of your icebreaker.

If you are interested in becoming our Guest star, come and take part in one of the next Flash workshops and then tell me your icebreaker which must last in 6 ‘as well as some dates (Mon / Wed / Fri). Will you take up the Challenge! Have a nice week end,

Expressed intention: what do you think it is?

Hidden intention: and for you, what is the hidden intention?

The solution will be indicated at the bottom of the page.

Situation 2- My priority to get home early

Context :Young divorced executive, engaged in the realization of international projects, I decide to devote more time to my 2 young children. For that, I decide to come back earlier in the weeks when I am not abroad.

Situation : my boss offers me to take charge of 2 new projects that I accept with joy, knowing that this will prevent me from returning to see my children earlier.

Expressed intention: what is it ?

Hidden intention: what is the hidden intention?

What happens in the end?

In Johari’s window, we saw that we were not always aware of what we convey.

We make commitments, and we don’t keep them because an underlying priority has taken precedence over what we stated previously.

For example, I state that I want to go home earlier to take care of my children while at the same time I always accept more professional projects. Which makes it difficult to achieve my desire. Am I therefore unable to keep my commitments?

Why flush out his hidden intentions?

The good news is that once you are aware of your hidden intentions, you can begin to counter the unwanted effects they are having on your life. This defense mechanism is a reflex for humans: protection against a supposed danger. However, we put the same mechanisms in place, whether the danger is real or imagined.

Once you have recognized the defense mechanism, you will be able to re-evaluate the “perceived” danger and thus discover the real hidden issue. Once you find the hidden intention, it’s up to you to decide if it is right for it, or to make your expectations clear to others.
